National Canoe Slalom Championships

The National Championships has now been confirmed as happening from the 3rd – 6th  of October 2024 at Mangahao.

The course is at the Mangahao Power Station near Shannon. See Google Maps HERE 
This race is suitable for people who are capable of paddling the course in Kawerau. If you are unsure please check with your coach.  If you are a paddler who has any consideration to be looking for national team selection in the coming few years, this is a really good race to attend. This course is often used one of the selection races and usually occur in January.
Our club coaches will be going to Mangahao and will be providing training.  Parental help is always required at these races so hopefully we will be seeing parents going down with their paddlers.  CSBOP will be looking to take down a van for training in advance of the event.  Training water is only allocated on Thursday the 3rd and Friday 4th in the morning. However water flows from the power station most days so we may look to go down earlier if the demand is there.
So we can come up with a suitable travel and training options please can you complete this form as an expression of interest to indicate your plans by Friday 30th August. 
Once we have numbers we will be able to come up with a budget. You will need to find your own accomodation. Please note camping is available next to the course.
